LEATHER BAG WORKSHOP
Tuesday evening 5 week course (October)
Design and make a leather bag with Tom Skeehan and Geordie Ferguson.
Create your own leather bag and in the process explore areas including, ideation, concept sketching, prototyping, form development, pattern making, hardware and materials selection, leather tanning, forming, cutting, embossing, stitching and assembly.
Tom Skeehan is an industrial designer and founder of SKEEHAN, a studio specialising in commercial furniture, lighting and product design. Taking a material driven approach with an emphasis on constant refinement from initial concept through to completed product, Tom combines simplicity with precise workmanship to create beautifully resolved pieces.
Geordie Ferguson is a craftsperson and industrial designer. His company, Stellen Studio, specialises in upholstered furniture production and in the design and development of custom stitched goods. Geordie's commitment to the traditions of fine craftsmanship, his technical abilities as a master-level maker, and his understanding of contemporary design enable him to make a unique contribution to the Australian design landscape.
